Mary Jean Niblack, 79, a 55 year resident of Lapeer (formerly of Dryden) died Friday May 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 7, 1934 in Dryden to parents Jack & Leola (Hall) Bohlman. Mary graduated from Dryden High School, class of 1952. She married Richard Niblack on November 7, 1953 in Dryden. Mary was the deputy clerk of Mayfield Township for over fifteen years. Above all, Mary adored raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren. Mary always stayed active, including membership in the Red Hat Group, Better Breathers Club, El Mirage and the Flint Lawn Bowling Club. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, golf and traveling.
She is survived by her children: John (Cindi) Niblack of Lapeer, Julie Hotchkiss of Lapeer and Janet Mann of Lapeer; five grandchildren: Josh Niblack, Emily Niblack, Travis Mann, Elichia (Steve) Flores and Eric (fiancé, Hannah Middleton) Mann; two great grandchildren: Ella & Ezra; best friend and companion, Jerry King of Lapeer; sister, Donna Lou Haynes of Dryden; sister-in-law, June Seidell of Dryden. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Niblack in 1998; son-in-law, Donnie Hotchkiss; mother & father in-law, Harold & Nellie Niblack, and her parents.
Visitation will be 4-8PM Monday, May 19, 2014 and 10-2pm Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. After visitation, the Niblack family is inviting everyone to come celebrate Mary's life at the Polar Palace Mezzanine from 4-10PM Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Better Breathers Club Committee.
