Robert Lewis Wright, Jr., 71, of Attica for the last 46 years, formerly of Flint, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 29, 2013 in the home that he built. Bob was born July 29, 1941 in Flint to Antonina (Buffa) Whitson. He married Margaret Baier on March 24, 1962 in Davison.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Shortly after his service, Bob started his 30 plus year career as an electrician with GM, Buick Motors division, Flint, retiring in 1998. He was a very mechanically minded man; a real do-it- yourselfer, who could build or fix anything. Bob enjoyed the music of Willie Nelson. He always loved spending summers at the family cottage in the UP.
Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years: Margaret, children: Ann (Victor) Clement of Lapeer, Amy Wright of Waterford, Shawn Robert (Debbie) Wright of Lapeer, granddaughter: Kimberly (Josh) Anderson of Alva, OK, siblings: Jim (Sharon) Whitson, Sharon Whitson, Tim Whitson, Rita (Jim) Besser and Mike Whitson. He was preceded in death by his mother: Antonina Whitson and an infant brother.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Noon at the Lapeer Apostolic Church, Rev. Anthony Kinsler officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Lapeer Apostolic Church, c/o Wright Memorial Fund, 2500 N. Lapeer Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446.
