Thaddeus "Ted" Zlotek, 92, of Center Line, died Sunday January 1, 2012. Ted was born January 29, 1919 in Toronto Canada, son to Josef & Emilier (Burkaiaska) Zlotek. Ted graduated from Cass Tech High School, class of 1937. He went on to earn his bachelors degree from Wayne State and his masters from Cranbrook. Ted proudly served his country in the US Navy pre-WWII and the US Army during WWII. Ted was an aerospace engineer working over 60 years for Form Sprag, LLC in Warren. His many professional accomplishments include holding 19 patents in the aerospace field. Music was a very important part of Ted's life – he was in a Navy touring band entertaining the troops and was an active local musician as well in his younger years. Ted is survived by his son Richard (Helen) Zlotek of Lapeer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William. Visitation will be held Tuesday 1/3/12 from 1-4/6-8pm and Wednesday 1/4/12 from 1-4/6-8pm at Muir Brothers in Lapeer. A memorial service will be held at a later date and at that time Ted will receive military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions in may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301 or the Charity of your choice.
