Anna Pisano, of San Pedro, died at home on October 15, 2012 after a brave struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on January 14, 1926 in Ischia, Italy. Her husband Antonio proposed marriage in 1947 before he left for America, promising to return for her. Antonio kept his promise. They were married in Ischia in 1952 after which Anna left her family to start a new life with Antonio in the United States. Anna was a proud and tireless homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband and raising her four children. Among her many talents were cooking, cleaning and sewing. Anna will also be remembered for her boundless energy, hospitality to visiting relatives from around the world, and the endless love of her family. A dedicated Catholic, she attended mass every day and was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. Anna was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Antonio; She is survived by sons Vince (Gail) Pisano of Milton, Georgia, Chris (Laurie) Pisano of Rancho Palos Verdes, George (Teresa) Pisano of Rancho Palos Verdes and daughter Rosa (Max) Weischedel of San Pedro and her sister-in-law, Francesca Pisano; Anna was "Nonna" to 11 grandchildren, Anthony Pisano, Natalie (Drew) French, Timothy Pisano, Al (Emily) Pisano, Kimberley Pisano, Nicholas Pisano, Daniel Pisano, Nina Pisano, Max Anthony Weischedel, Benny Weischedel and Andrea Weischedel and a great grandchild, Adeline. She is also survived by numerous family and cousins in San Pedro and Italy. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel on October 19. A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, October 20 at 9:00 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Church.
