Doris A. Rice, 75, of Garland, Texas passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Doris was born on December 20, 1940 in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania to parents Marion & Edith Gunnett. Doris was a graduate of Athens High School. Doris worked for Texas Instruments until her retirement and then worked in child care for many years.
Doris loved crafts and her dog Shrek and making crafts to support her daughter Saunja with CMN, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay for Life.
Doris is survived by her husband Ernest, sons Tony Brockway & spouse Brenda, Ardath Rice & spouse Carla, Alan Rice & spouse Kristen; and twin daughters Taunja Brockway and Saunja Lee and spouse Jr. Grandchildren Bobby Rice, Nick Brockway & spouse Min, Shawn Brockway, Michael Hessel & spouse Kailey, Micah Rice & spouse Olivia, Cody Brockway, Robert Rice Jr., Jessica Farmer & spouse Jared and Lauren Speed & spouse Spencer. Great-grandchildren Emma & Brynn Rice, Brayden Brockway and arriving April 2017 little Nora Hessel.
