Memorial for Robert William Lemmons

Born on Nov. 24, 1951
Departed on Apr. 1, 2016 and resided in Dallas, TX.

Robert (Bob) William Lemmons died of natural causes on April 1, 2016 after a short illness. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on November 24, 1951. He received his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas bar in 1978. He practiced as a criminal defense attorney in Dallas for more than 37 years as a solo practitioner. He was a unique character with a distinctive temperament and original wit. His individuality and eccentric lifestyle made him difficult for those who met him to forget. For example, in addition to practicing law, he raised and doted on his chickens, and once worked mowing lots in addition to practicing law.
Filled with passions, Robert lived life on his own terms, enjoying his animals, his tractor, his old pick-up truck and his love of all legal quandaries. His humor, no holes barred view of politicians, and his strong connection to his furry companions will be missed. His friends included those from all walks of life and he was not concerned with what others thought about how he lived his life. In his younger days, he enjoyed running marathons, rock and roll, travel and scuba diving.
He is survived by his two very beloved dog children, Monster and Dogster, and 8 feathered friends.
He is also survived by four siblings: Mark (Deb) Lemmons of Milford, Iowa; Kevin (Kathy) Lemmons of Keller, Texas; Robin (Joe) Jones of Menifee, California; and Linda Lemmons of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miriam and Ronald Lemmons of Riviera, Texas.
