age 59, of Randolph, died Sunday November 26, 2006 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota. He was born November 27, 1946 at Norfolk, Nebraska the son of Lavern & LeoNina (Buss) Jones.
          
He attended Wayne County District #76 near Carroll, graduated 8th grade from Wayne County rural District near Sholes, he graduated Randolph High School at Randolph in 1964 and Graduated with an Associates Degree from Norfolk Junior College in 1966. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from February 1967 to November 1970, serving one year in Vietnam from February 1968 to February 1969.   

He married Cinda R. Caster on August 23, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Randolph. He was automotive manager at Kmart in Omaha, Aberdeen, South Dakota and Norfolk until 1982 when he purchased Monk’s Bar in Randolph, operating until 1992. In 1992 he was employed as Greens-keeper at Randolph Community Golf Course, following a bout with cancer, he worked part time at Jerry’s Hilltop in Randolph until October 2001, retiring due to illness.

Marvern was a Life member of Alvin Kessler V.F.W. Post #5545 of Randolph and 10 Year member Randolph Volunteer Fire Department. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling.
