age 82, of Randolph died Monday November 27, 2006 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. He was born January 14, 1924 at Osmond, Nebraska the son of Cornelius & Gertrude (Billerbeck) Schmit.

Vincent was raised in rural Osmond and attended Pierce County Dist #19 near Osmond and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Graduated Osmond High School in 1941. After high school Vincent worked for 4 years as a farm laborer near Osmond. He served in the United States Army from April 10, 1945 to October 4, 1946 with 410th Engineers Construction Battalion.

Vincent married Shirley Meyer on February 10, 1947 at St. Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Randolph, the family farmed in the Randolph area from 1947 to 1995, and moved in to Randolph in 1985. Vincent spent three years in Deacon Formation and in 1979 was ordained a Permanent Deacon of the Catholic Church. He was assigned by the Archdiocese of Omaha to St. Frances de Chantal Catholic Parish where he served until his death. In 1997 Vincent & Shirley celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

He was a Member St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph, served as Deacon since 1979, serving on Parish Council, Taught C.C.D. and served on the Liturgy Committee; Member Catholic Order of Forresters serving as Chief Ranger for many years; Charter Member Randolph Rural Fire Department serving until moving into Randolph in 1985; 50 year Member Cedar County Livestock Feeders Association, served as secretary/treasurer and president for several years; as a Member of Randolph Community Club Vincent was involved with many Randolph Community projects over the years.
