Aner worked for Peter Broberg in Tilden driving a truck before he went into the service. After returning from the service, worked for Corkle Farm Supply in Tilden as Truck Driver. Mildred & Aner Anderson purchased the Tilden Coffee Shop with John & Margaret Johnson they owned & operated it in Tilden for 10 years in the 1950's. Worked at the Ford Garage as a Salesman, Shop Foreman & Parts Department for 8 years in Tilden and worked part-time at the Marshall Funeral Home from 1947. He started as rural mail carrier in March 1958, it was 52 miles long, but by the time he retired on April 2, 1984 his rural mail route was 115 miles long, he retired from Postal Service April 2, 1984. He continued working for Charlie Harlan at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden until Charlie sold his business. All together he worked at the Tilden Funeral Home for over 50 years. He also worked for his great niece, Kathy Johnson, in the Spear & Warne-Johnson Funeral Homes in Scribner & Hooper, Nebraska from 1983 to 1998.

Military Service: War: WWII; Branch: U.S. Army Air Corps; Rank: Staff Sergeant, Assistant Engineer & Waist Gunner; Dates of Service: October 20, 1942 to October 1, 1945; Outfit: 392nd Bomber Group - 579th Squadron - 8th Air Force Division; Awards: 4 Air Medals; 3 Oak Leaf Clusters; Distinguished Flying Cross; 4 Bronze Stars; European Theatre Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal. He graduated from airplane mechanics school and served as an engineer- waist gunner on B-24 Bomber Liberator, he flew over 100 missions, 29 missions were Germany & European theatre of operations. Campaigns include Air Offensive Europe; Normandy Western Europe Campaign; Northern France Campaign; Rhineland Campaign.
