Leota May Augusta Mandl, age 80 of Stanton, died Monday June 13, 2016 at Stanton Health Center in Stanton surrounded by her children. She was born on April 22, 1936 at Winside, Nebraska the daughter of August Frederick Otto and Julia Ann Leota (Carr) Koll. She attended and graduated from Winside High School in 1953. Leota was often found helping her dad with the farm particularly while her brother was a way in military service.
On October 23, 1956 Leota Koll married Rich Mandl at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. To this union six children were born. The couple later divorced. She was a long time employee of Dale Electronics in Norfolk retiring in 1993. Over the years Leota also cleaned several businesses and residences in Stanton. Her children all have memories of helping her clean the bank. She was a long time member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stanton, St. Peter's Altar Society, and Stanton V.F.W. Post #3602 Auxiliary.
Leota is survived by 5 children Jan and Earl Bayne of Scottsbluff, NE; Cindy Willis of Lakewood, CO; Ron Mandl of Norfolk; John and Lynette Mandl of Stanton; Del and Lisa Mandl of Moville, IA; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 5 Step Great Grandchildren; 1 brother Richard Koll of Wayne; Sister-In-Law Mary Ann Thies of Stanton; nieces and nephews Dave and Norma Podany of Stanton; Teresa and Bruce Kander of Athens, PA; Lori and Ken Lewis of Norfolk; Deb and Jeff Hansen of Stanton; Randy Koll of Wayne.
Preceded in death by her parents; son Dan in 2001; one brother Donald who died in infancy.

Interment: Stanton Cemetery – Stanton, NE

Visitation: 3-8 P.M. with 7:30 P.M. Christian Wake all Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stanton under direction of Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in Stanton.
