John Edward Sohler, age 82 of Randolph, died Friday April 24, 2015 at Colonial Manor of Randolph. He was born October 26, 1932 at Randolph, Nebraska the son of John and Caroline (Bermel) Sohler. He attended Wayne County District #82 near Randolph and in 1951graduated from St. Frances Catholic High School in Randolph. He entered military service during the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force from January 1952 until January 1956, he earned the rank of Airman First Class with 3 stripes and worked as an Aircraft and Jet engine mechanic at Perrin AFB in Sherman, TX. After leaving the military he operated a bar in Laurel.
On April 3, 1961 John married Rosemary Reardon at the catholic church in Magnolia, IA. The couple lived near St. Louis, MO and John worked as an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell-Douglas Corp. from 1965 until 1971. John returned to Nebraska to farm with his father, John farmed until the late 1990's as he gradually retired from farming. He loved camping, fishing, going to the casino's, traveling the world with Rosemary and he loved his grandchildren. He was member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Randolph.
He is survived by his 4 children Kevin Sohler of Omaha; Deanna Rosenlind of Gig Harbor, WA; Sue Sohler of Norfolk; Larry and Cristina Sohler of Norfolk; 6 Grandchildren Kevin Sean of Portland, OR; Dezi Adams of Geneva, NE; Brent Sohler of Norfolk; Kira Rosenlind of Gig Harbor, WA; Dylan Rosenland of Gig Harbor, WA; Sienna Sohler of Norfolk; 1 Great Grandson Aaden Adams of Geneva, NE; 1 Brother Leon and Rosemary Sohler of Norfolk. Preceding John in death are his parents; Wife Rosemary in 2013; 1 Infant Daughter Karen; 1 Son-In-Law John Rosenlind in 2010; 1 bBother Richard in 2007; 1 Sister Lavern Stoos in 1977.
