Deacon James Eleazor Yates (Age 73) entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 29, 2014. Beloved husband of Evangelist Deborah A. Yates. He also leaves to cherish his memory five children, Pamela M. Yates, Vickie A. Clyburn (Anthony), James A. Yates (Terry), Lucretia Moore (Da'Mond), and Thecia Brown (Kyle), in laws, Mr. Sylvester and Mrs. Florence Williams; one godmother, Mother Ruth Lancaster; 12 grandchildren and a host of godchildren, other relatives and friends and his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Dorothy Yates and one son Carlos Yates. He was a long time member of the Way of the Cross Church of Christ (Mother Church) Capitol Heights MD. Bishop Alfonzo D. Brooks Senior Pastor, Bishop Walter J. Thompson Pastor, Elder Chauncey Lancaster Asst. Pastor, Elder Richard J. Simon III Church Administrator. On Saturday October 11, friends may visit with the family from 10 am until 11 am at Bethany Way of the Cross Church of Christ, 5517 Whitfield Chapel Rd, Lanham MD. where services will be held at 11 am. Bishop Alfonzo D. Brooks will deliver the eulogy. Services by HUNT FUNERAL HOME.
