Ft. Valley, GA: Dorothy Greene Brown, 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Otis Andrews will officiate.
Mrs. Brown was born in Macon, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Davis Greene and May Peavy Greene and her husband W. Howard Brown. She graduated from Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, GA where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She was past WMU Director for the Rehobeth Association and she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter Leslie Chestnut and husband Ken of Ft. Valley, three grandchildren Casey Chestnut of Warner Robins, Will Chestnut (Kim) of Macon, Worth Chestnut of Ft. Valley, one great grandchild Jacob Chestnut of Columbus and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at 1160 Forsyth St., Macon, GA, 31201 or to Glenwood Hills Baptist Church at 3225 Rice Mill Rd Macon, GA, 31206 or to the Trinity United Methodist Church Music Ministry at 129 South Houston Rd, Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mrs. Brown.
