William F. Butterworth Jr. 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, FL surrounded by loved ones on Sunday December 18, 2016. Bill was born in Bronx, NY on October 3, 1935. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and then as a NYPD police officer for 20 years. Bill is survived by his loving daughters Eileen Hughes (George Gagnon), Kathleen Butterworth and grandchildren Ashley, Samantha and Thomas. He was predeceased in death by beloved wife Maureen Butterworth (née Flynn) and son Walter Butterworth. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. Friday at 10 AM. Interment to follow. An additional memorial service will be held in Naples, Florida with details to be shared at a later date.
