Gerald "Gee-Gee" Watts, 57, of Blackwood, New Jersey, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 7, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
"Gee-Gee" was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he attended the local public schools.
In his early years, Gee-Gee served in the Army Reserve and was eventually employed by the Atlantic City Medical Center, Trump Plaza, and Harrahs casinos.
He spent his later years in Blackwood, New Jersey where he lived with his beloved companion and best friend of 24 years, Michelle "Shelly" Rex.
Gee-Gee loved life, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. His favorite past times included watching the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Games and listening to music, especially the Temptations. He would recruit his family members to "harmonize" while singing their songs, and he would also try to mimmick their dance steps and routines. Gee-Gee also had a knack for impersonating various celebrities, family members and friends. In a nutshell, "he was crazy". Gee-Gee, with his witty humor, will be missed by all, he was affectionately known as "Uncle Wacky". On a more sensitive side, Gee-Gee had a compassion for animals, it seemed that he was always trying to heal or mend a sickly or injured animal.
Gee-Gee is predeceased by: his mother, Juanita Leggett; father, Henry Watts, Jr.; step-father, Eugene Leggett; and brothers, Larry and Gregory Watts.
He is survived by: his companion and caretaker, Shelly Rex of Blackwood, New Jersey; four daughters, Katriece Stanley of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Tara Watts of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Tashana Edwards of Pleasantville, New Jersey, and Amber Rex of Blackwood, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren, Christian Gabriel, Kamiya and Laniya Edwards, Franklin, Tajhir, and Tyara Cottman; brother, Henry "Bunny" Watts of Atlantic City, New Jersey; sisters, Diane Coleman of Vineland, New Jersey, and Carol Bibby of Atlantic City, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Lovingly submitted, The Family
