Robert Smith- 61 passed away April 2, 2012. He was born September 16, 1950, to Coretha Wakins and Howard Smith in South Boston, VA.
Robert graduated from Halifax County High School. In the early 70's he moved the New Jersey where he met the love of his life of 38 years, Christine Smith and started his family.
Robert worked as a truck driver for 38 years. He had a passion for softball. He played softball for many years. He also loved spending time with his grandkids, listening to music and keeping the lawn and flowers looking nice. Robert loved to talk, when you came around him you knew you had to be ready to listen.
He was a loving person, always willing to help.
He leaves to cherish his fond memory: children, Teresia Lovest McCoy (with her husband, Dimani McCoy), Sandra Lovest Blackmon (with her husband, Sean Blackmon) and his only son, Henry Lovest; his grandchildren, Markita, Tiera, Domguie, Sherita, Alsharif, Jafantasie, Quanief, Nahquil, Kareem and Nasir; his god-children, Robert Ingram and Latrisha Wynn; his siblings, Janie (and her husband, Bill), Teresa, John (and his wife, Sharon), James ( and his wife, Norma), Sam (and his wife, Sayone), Bobby (and his wife, Judy), Henry (and his wife, Sharee); 6 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; 1 father-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert will truly be missed by all his loved ones.
