Hampton, NH/Delray Beach, FL---Phillip B. Alterman, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in a Manchester NH hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born in Manchester on May 4, 1966, the son of Allen and Roberta (Richmond) Alterman. Phillip graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1984, and earned his bachelor's degree from UNH. Phillip was an entrepreneur who enjoyed a successful career as a building contractor, and was also an experienced fishing captain. He was an avid sports car enthusiast, loved to travel, enjoyed fine dining, good cigars and fine whiskey.
He is survived by his mother, Roberta Freedman and her husband Lee of Manchester; his love Kathryn Conway of Litchfield, NH; a brother Karl Alterman of Orlando, FL; several step-siblings including Sean Fountain of Laconia, NH, Steve Fountain of Londonderry, NH, and Mark Freedman of Melrose, MA; two nephews, Alex and Kyle Alterman and their mother Collette Alterman of Florida; and his beloved dog Chloe. He was preceded in death by his father Allen in 1985; and his aunt Patti Werner.
A memorial celebration will begin at 11 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut Street, Manchester. There are no calling hours.
