Lavonne Rae Maloy passed away peacefully after her stay in Whatcom County Hospice Center at the age of 58, on Sunday, April 12th. She was born July 9th, 1956 in Lynden, WA. Lavonne is preceded by her mother Alena Kok and survived by a loving family of six children-Tawsha Newcomb, Shawna Martin, Monika McElwaine, Hollie Keiper, Katherine Keiper and Alexi Maloy; her eight grandchildren; four siblings, Jerry, Randy, Shelly, & Karla; as well as her father, Marvin Kok; and dog, Zacchaeus.
Lavonne lived her life to the fullest with a smile and a song. Her best days were spent with her family and her friends. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, EVERY single holiday and the sunshine! She was forever an optimist always seeing the bright side of everything. She will forever be missed and always remembered as our Rae of sunshine.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18th at 2:30 p.m. at the BP Heron Center in Birch Bay State Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whatcom Hospice House 2800 Douglas Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225.
