Larry Bosman, of Lynden, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 19, 2015 while vacationing in Hawaii. He was 72.
Larry was born on December 11, 1942 to William and Jeannette (Bos) Bosman in Lynden, He enjoyed growing up on the family farm off the Northwood Rd. Larry graduated from Lynden High School in 1960 where he began his love of sports which continued through today. Shortly after high school he met Alice (Haak), the love of his life who initially caught Larry's eye at the Lynden Fair. She couldn't resist those blue eyes and big smile and they were married April 26, 1963. Together they had two daughters, Shelli and Jolene, who were his pride and joy. Larry had several jobs before he started his career as an electrician and plumber at Al's Electric & Plumbing. He had a strong work ethic and took tremendous pride in workmanship on the job.
Larry enjoyed watching his girls and grandkids in all their activities. He was a member of First Reformed Church and served as a deacon. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed all water sports, hiking, tennis and fishing. He also enjoyed coffee time with his many groups of buddies. Larry spent his final days with the love of his life on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. We loved him so much, but God loved him more.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gerald Bosman; and in laws Alvin and Irene Haak. He is survived by his wife Alice of 51 years; children Shelli (Tony) Bladies, and Jolene (Craig) Van Kooten; grandchildren Meagan (Scott) Smit, Tess and David Bladies, and Jordan and Morgan Van Kooten; and great- grandson Levi Smit. As well as Ron (Ria) Bosman, Carolyn (Wes) Weg, Bill (Marilyn) Bosman, Jack (Jane) Bosman, Joan Bush, Gord (Marilyn) Haak , Allen (Kim) Haak, Sheryl (Brad) DeHaan, Etta Haak and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
