Joseph Frances DeSarno, Jr. was born on July 30, 1953 in Bayonne, New Jersey, son of Bridgette Palido DeSarno and Joseph Frances DeSarno, Sr. Educated in the Bayonne Public School System, he graduated from Bayonne High School in 1972 where he excelled in football.
Upon graduation, Joseph entered the United States Marine Corp. He served in Germany and during the Vietnam War before he was honorably discharged.
Joseph was employed by Gallo Wine and Capital Fuel both in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He would later work as a truck driver for AFI Food Service also in Elizabeth.
He was a member Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Roselle, New Jersey.
Joseph Frances DeSarno, Jr. departed this life on March 14, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway, New Jersey at the age of 60. He was predeceased by his parents, Bridgette and Joseph DeSarno, Sr.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his beloved wife, Renee DeSarno of Linden, New Jersey; a son, Joseph Frances DeSarno, III and a daughter, Nicole Marie DeSarno; 2 stepchildren, Briana Cooke of Roselle, NJ and Andrew Cooke of Jersey City, NJ; 2 stepgrandchildren, Londyn Adele Cooke Twine and Madisyn Victoria Cook Twine; a brother, Peter DeSarno (Nancy) of South Plainfield, NJ; a sister, Maria Sadowski (Greg) of Elizabeth, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
