Claudette J. (Brown) Billings, 80, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully early Sunday morning June 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Claudette was born in Fitchburg, September 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Claude and Maude (Girard) Brown, and lived in Fitchburg, eventually moving to Ashburnham, and then Gardner with her beloved husband Arthur E, Billings Sr., who died in 1997.
Claudette dedicated her life to raising her family. Her greatest joy came from all the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. In her free time Claudette loved to tell jokes, cook and bake for her family and friends. She was an avid bingo player, some have even called her a professional bingo player.
Claudette will be missed by her four children; Arthur "Art" E. Billings, Jr and his wife Marleen of New Salem, MA, Timothy Billings of Worcester, MA, Monica M. Waterman and her husband John of Westminster, and Lisa Lavigne and her husband Mark of New Bedford, ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Claudette was predeceased by eight siblings, Sophia Spinelli, Beatrice Cormier, Helen Mullaney, Ruthie Bessette, Claude Brown, Jr., Archie Brown, Leon Brown, and Dorothy Muzzeroll.
You are invited to attend a visiting hour in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Thursday June 9, 2016 from 5-6PM. A Memorial service will follow at 6PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Claudette's memory may be made to the Mahar Senators Boosters Club, 100 Winter St., Orange, MA 01364.
