Charles E. Vogel, 88, of Baldwinville, formerly of East Longmeadow, Ma died peacefully Early friday morning April 1, 2016 after a brief illness.
Charles was born in Albany, Ny, April 11, 1927, a son of the late Charles E. and Angnes M. (Saldeska) Vogel. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years Jean E. Hackett in1987.
Charles proudly served his country with the United States Navy. He worked for Zimmerman Electric for 33 years as a salesman retiring in 1990. Charles was a long time member, and past master of the Brigham Lodge of Masons in Ludlow, MA. In his free time Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Charles will be missed by his children; Wayne Vogel, Phyllis Laliberte and her husband Michael, Lee Vogel and his wife Sandra, Mark Vogel, James Vogel, and Peter Vogel, his grandchildren; Laura Roy, Mark Roy, Robert Vogel, Danielle Laliberte, Peter Vogel, Jessica, and Sarah, great-grandchildren, Robert Guilbeault, Jocelyn Roy, and Aayden Vogel, and his long time companion Sherry Fontaine. Charles was predeceased by a granddaughter; Jennifer Raleigh. Charles was predeceased by his brother Clyde I. Vogel.
You are invited to attend visiting hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Wednesday April 6 2016 from 11AM-12PM. His funeral service will follow at 12PM. Burial will be private.
