Arthur J. Henry, 65, of Gardner, died peacefully early Friday morning February 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Arthur was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada, August 19, 1950, a son of the of the late Alyre and Dorina (Robichaud) Henry. He married his beloved wife Joan A. (Kalanta) Henry, August of 1973 and they have shared over 42 years together.

Arthur worked for the former Conant Ball, Aspen Trucking, and more recently the Country Hen. Arthur will be remembered by coworkers, friends and neighbors as a man who was kindhearted and extremely generous with his time. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Arthur loved visiting the beach, vacationing with his family, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. To all who knew Arthur he will be greatly missed.

Besides his wife Joan, Art will be missed by his two sons; Mark P. Amero and his husband Brian of Pittsfield, MA, and Brian M. Henry and his wife Bridget of Bridgewater, their children; Quinn and Cole Henry, his seven siblings, Marcel Henry of Rogersville, New Brunswick, Emerice Bourque of Templeton, MA, Diane Carter of Pugwash, Novia Scotia, Laura Cormier of Muncton, New Brunswick, Jeanette Henri of Gardner, MA, Augustine Gauthier of Gardner, and Yvonne Richard Winnipeg, Manitoba, his mother in-law; Albina Kalanta, two brothers in-law; William Kalanta of Modesto, CA, and Paul Kalanta and his wife Sheila of Ashburnham, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

You are invited to attend visiting hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Tuesday February 23, 2016 from 8:30-10:30AM. His funeral Mass will be held in Holy Spirt Church, Lovewell St., South Gardner, at 11AM. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory may be made to Forward In Health, 192 Lawrence St., Gardner, MA 01440, www.forwardinhealth.org/.
