Helen Laflamme, 93, of Gardner, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon February 12, 2016 with her family by her side.
Helen was born in Gardner, December 30, 1922, a daughter of the late Uldege and Exilda (Guenette) Laflamme, and has lived in Gardner all her life.
Helen worked as a kitchen manager at Mount Wachusett Community College for many years. She enjoyed knitting, playing her harmonica, and traveling with her friend Julia Guenette. Helen was a life long member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish. She was extremely active in the Church. Helen co-chaired the Church Bazaar for many years. She ran the candy booth at the bazaar, and she even planned the very first Spaghetti Supper at the Church. Helen also enjoyed cooking for the Holy Rosary Nuns at the convent, and the priests.
Helen will be missed by her one niece; Doris Bond, two nephews; Francis Laflamme and Roger Laflamme, her great-nieces; Kathy Rastley, Michelle Sirois, and Susan Collins, her great-great niece; Madison Rastley, and her great-great nephew, Anthony Collins. Helen was predeceased by her two brothers; Hector and Edmond Laflamme, and her sister; Rita Charest.
You are invited to attend her visiting hour in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Wednesday February 17, 2016 from 8:30-9:30AM. a Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner at 10AM. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West St., Gardner. Should you desire donations in Helen's memory may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440.
