Ernest N. St. Pierre, 92, of Rindge, died peacefully Friday evening January 1, 2016, at Monadnock Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Ernest was born in Winchendon, MA, May 12, 1923, a son of the late Francois and Sarah (Berard)St. Pierre, and has lived in Rindge since 1974. His beloved wife Marjorie A. (Thayer) Plummer St. Pierre, died January 16, 2009.

Ernest is a graduate Murdock High School. After High School he joined the United States Navy, Retiring after 27 years. He proudly served during WWII and the Korean War. After his retirement from the Navy, Ernest worked for the United States Post Office in Rindge for 15 years.

Ernest was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Rindge. He was very active in the Men's Club at the Church, and was very involved in hosting the roast beef suppers. Ernest was a former member of the WInchendon School Golf Club where he served as a caddy in his younger days, and was an avid golfer after his retirement. He enjoyed going to flea markets with his wife, reading, and puzzle books. Most of all Ernest loved spending time with his family and loved ones. He will be remembered as a kind man, a loving husband and father, and a true gentleman.

Ernest will be sadly missed by five children; Lois G. Gulliver and her husband Edward Jr., of Tennessee, Sherry Weeden and her husband Dan of Barrington, NH, Nancy J. Babineau and her husband James of Rindge, NH, and Diane V. Seppala and her husband Aaron of Rindge, NH and Michael St. Pierre of CT, two sisters; Juliette "Dee Dee" Floria of Winchendon, MA and Margie Liimatainen of Jaffrey, NH, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ernest was predeceased by a daughter Martha A. Caldwell in 2009, six siblings, Pat, Phil, Eugene, Alta Wheelen, Suzie Zatowski and Helen Tucker.

You are invited to attend a visiting hour in the Fletcher-Hebert Funeral Home, 70 Pleasant St. Winchendon, on Thursday, January 7, from 11AM to 12PM. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12 o'clock. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Rindge in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rindge Fire and Ambulance fund, 150 Main St., Rindge, NH 03461.
