Libby, Jr., 48, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday morning February 3, 2014 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a long battle with cancer. Arthur was born in Meriden, CT, April 11, 1965, son of Arthur G. Libby and Bonnie L. (Moody) Carpenter. Arthur attended University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he studied music for 5 years. He is an accomplished musician and could play almost any instrument. Music was his passion in life. He wrote and composed his own music, he was also a DJ for several years, and recorded his own songs. Arthur worked for the Jandris Concrete Company, and prior to his illness he worked as a quality of life aide, for Life Care Center of Leominster. Arthur will be remembered as a kind and caring man, a loving father, and devoted and loving husband. Arthur will be sadly missed by his wife; Susan R. (Bettez) Libby, six children; Storie Libby of Millbury, MA, Jason Jensen of Gardner, Ryan Jensen of gardner, Christina Mazerolle of Millbury, MA, Sarah Bond of Gardner, and Ryan Bond of Gardner, MA, seven grandchildren, and his friend and former wife Linda Libby of Gardner. Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Arthur's life by gathering for a memorial service in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Friday February 7, 2014 beginning at 2:30PM. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
