Shirley Gross, 87, of Jefferson, passed away Thursday morning at the Mennonite Home in Albany.

Shirley was born in Salem to Fred and Bertha (Chittick) Jorgenson. She lived in Talbot all her life and attended Talbot school. She married Isaac Gross in Talbot on December 10, 1947.

Shirley was a 4-H leader for many years and loved horses. She also enjoyed corresponding with her numerous pen pals, playing softball, and was a big Portland Trail Blazers fan.

Shirley was voted the number 1 school bus driver in Oregon and number 3 in the nation, plus received numerous safe driving awards.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Klein of Keizer, Jack Gross of Lyons, Jean Delaney of Noti, Jan Way of Redmond, Jerry Gross of Lebanon, Jimmy Gross of Jefferson, and Jay Gross of Jefferson; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isaac; and son, Dean Gross.

A graveside service will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, June 7 at Jefferson Cemetery.
