Joan Hagedorn Klohk, 69, of Albany died Sunday at her home. Born in Portland, the daughter of E.B. and June (Charboneau) Hagedorn, Joan graduated from Albany Union High School in 1960. She married Herbert Klohk on September 14th, 1961 in Albany. Herbert passed away in 1983.
Joan was an enthusiastic bridge player, and prior to contracting rheumatoid arthritis was an avid tennis player. She was a member of PEO Chapter O, and had many lifelong friends including high school classmates Georgeann Casey, Judy Bailey, and Georgia Aas.
Survivors include sons Jason Klohk of Albany and Jeffrey Klohk of Portland; daughter in law Toni Klohk of Albany; mother June Hagedorn of Albany; brother and sister in law Richard and Claudia Hagedorn of Salem; granddaughter Kaitlyn; step grandson Zachery; nephews Drew Hagedorn and his wife Erica, Dr. Scott Hagedorn and his wife Mandy and son Alex, and niece Karen Joan Hagedorn; numerous cousins; and Joan's dogs Muffin and Cookie.
A funeral service will be at 3pm Friday, May 18th at South Albany Community Church. Contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice c/o Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, OR 97321.
