Vincenza Marie "Jennie" Amenta, 97, of Cromwell, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 31, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Cromwell, she was the daughter of the late Antonino and Lucia (Rosano) Amenta.
Jennie lived all of her life in Cromwell and was a member of Saint John Church in Cromwell. She graduated Middletown High School and worked at Aetna Insurance Company until her retirement in 1980. Jennie was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and aunt throughout her life. Her gentle ways will be missed.
Jennie is survived by three sisters, Connie Halstead of Cromwell, Lil Cota of Cromwell and Marie Milardo of Portland and several loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Sebastian V. Amenta and three sisters, Angela Arcidiacono, Minnie Marino and Ann Amenta Bradley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Saint John Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.
