James Mastriani, Sr., 80, of New Britain, husband of Helen (Francheschelli) Mastriani, died Sunday (January 9, 2005) at Haven Health in Farmington. A native and lifelong New Britain resident, he was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Jim worked in the Hardware Division of Stanley Works for 45 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church, New Britain. Besides his wife Helen, he leaves a son, James Mastriani, Jr. of Plantsville; a daughter, Donna Colosimo and her husband Peter of Plantsville; a brother, Reno Mastriani and his wife Elizabeth of Southington; two sisters, Mary Cazzetta of Newington; and Phyllis Pfersick and her husband Louis of Southington; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Danielle Colosimo; a special niece, Ellie Cianci of New Britain; several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Wednesday 8:45 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 AM at St. Ann’s Church, North Street, New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday (TODAY) 4 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. Donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
