Youave Pourdavood, 84, of New Britain, widower of Nina (Younano) Pourdavood, passed away Friday (May 31, 2013) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in Russia, Youave was a former resident of Iran and lived in New Britain since 1980. He was employed at Sherry Cup in Kensington for 14 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Thomas Assyrian Church of the East in New Britain.
Surviving are his daughters, Bella Dooman and her husband Nelson of New Britain; and Karolin Betoushana and her husband Mardok, also of New Britain; a sister, Rosa Benjamin of New Britain; and three grandchildren, Daniel Dooman, Mar-Eil and Bellsena Betoushana.
Funeral services are Monday (June 3rd), 11 AM at St. Thomas Assyrian Church of the East, 120 Cabot Street, New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours are Monday morning from 10:15 to 11 AM at the church. Donations may be made to St. Thomas Assyrian Church. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
