Evangelist Wanda D. Roach "Mitzi", 64, departed this life Thurs. June 22, 2017 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Plainfield, she was a lifelong resident and graduate of Plainfield High School. Mitzi, as she was known, was formerly employed with Midland Adult Home Services in Branchburg, NJ. She also was the owner of Sistah Centrics in Plainfield where she handcrafted jewelry.
Mitzi was a member of Rescue House of Prayer in South Plainfield where she served as an evangelist, head of the recovery ministry and was the church representative to the Balm in Gilead Organization.
She is predeceased by her parents Janet E. Calhoun and Clarence Armstrong; her brother Andre Calhoun and a sister Creasy Hendricks.
Surviving are a son Devin Roach; two daughters Charnessa Roach and Raqiyyah Cruse; four grandchildren; two sisters Deborah Roach and Janet Calhoun and a host of other relatives and friends.
