Alyssa A. Flaherty, Esq. Beloved Daughter, Sister, Niece and Aunt, 27
Alyssa A. Flaherty, Esq., 27, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Saturday, January 21 at 9:15 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church , Nutley at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery , North Arlington. Visitation will be on Friday, January 20 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Alyssa was a lifelong resident of Nutley. She was an Attorney for the Lois Law Firm, L.L.C., Paramus. Alyssa was a 2007 graduate of Nutley High School. She graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2011 with a degree in Criminal Justice from Caldwell College. Alyssa was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society at Caldwell College. She was a 2014 graduate of Albany Law School. Alyssa was a member of both the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations. She was also a professor of Business Law at Montclair State University and a Substitute Teacher at Good Shepherd Academy, Nutley. Alyssa was President of the Flaherty Family Association for the past eight years.
She is survived by her beloved parents James and Kathleen (nee Mezzatesta) Flaherty; her siblings Thomas Flaherty and his wife Christine and Sean Flaherty and his wife Millie; her cherished niece and nephews, Logan, Madison and Nicolas; and also her loving aunts and uncles Lorraine Solomon, Arlene and Steve Ferrara, Linda and Felix Castrichini and Joanne and Eugene Erickson. Alyssa is also survived by her great-aunts, cousins and loving friends.
