Frank Capalbo World War II Battle of the Bulge Veteran Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, 88
Mr. Frank Capalbo, 88, of Nutley, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Waterview Center, Cedar Grove. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Friday, May 24 at 8:15 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church , Nutley at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery , Bloomfield with military honors. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 –8:00 p.m.
Mr. Capalbo was born in Nutley and was a lifelong resident. He was a driver for Viola Brothers, Nutley. He was later a foreman for Carpenter and Paterson, Little Ferry. Mr. Capalbo was an Army veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He was a member of the Nutley Italian American Club, the Nutley Old Guard, the Nutley Amvets Post #30 and the Nutley V.F.W. Post #493.
Mr. Capalbo is survived by his beloved daughter Casandra Michels and her husband James and his precious grandchildren James P. Michels and Cynthia A. Michels. He is the loving brother-in-law of Anne, Frank and Doris Ruggiero. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Capalbo is predeceased by his parents Biaggio and Mary Capalbo; his wife Catherine (nee Ruggiero) Capalbo; his brothers James, Peter and Carmen Capalbo; and his sisters Antoinette Capalbo and Lucy Lillo.
