Shannon Retired School Teacher Lifelong Nutley Resident Ms. Frances L. Shannon of Nutley passed away on Saturday September 15, 2012 at Job Haines, Bloomfield. There will be a funeral service celebrated at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley 540 Franklin Ave. on Tuesday September 18 at 9 A.M. Pastor Pam Bakal officiating. The interment will be at the East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visitation will be from 8:30 A.M. until time of service. Ms. Shannon was born in Brooklyn and was a lifelong resident of Nutley. She graduated from the N.J. College for Women in 1934 receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She later obtained her teaching certification from the Newark Normal School. She was a School Teacher in Singac for 38 years before retiring in1974. Ms. Shannon was featured in Life Magazine February 12, 1940 as one of the 25 prettiest teachers in America. She is survived by her dear friends Charles and Catherine Speed. Ms. Shannon is predeceased by her parents Chester Shannon and Maude (nee Grant) Shannon.
