Mr. Robert E. Schweikert (Bob E. Soxx), 73, of Nutley, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury surrounded by his loving family. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue, on Friday, September 7 at 9:15 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Mary's Church , Nutley at 10:30 a.m. with Military Honors. The cremation will be held privately. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Schweikert was born in Orange and was a lifelong resident of Nutley.He also enjoyed his time in Avon-by-the-Sea. Mr. Schweikert founded North Jersey Truck Seat Co., Nutley in 1967. Mr. Schweikert served proudly in the U.S. Marines. He is past President and Life Member of the Third Half Club of Nutley, Past President of Nutley Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Nutley Optimist Club and Life Member of the Optimist Club International, Life Member of the Nutley Elks Lodge B.P.O.E 1290, Life Member of the Nutley Amvets, Charter Member of the Nutley Irish American Association, Charter Member of the Kiwanis Club of Nutley, Member of the Belmar Fishing Club, Member of The Order of Friendly Sons of Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore, Member of the St. Mary's Council #2346 Knights of Columbus, Past Vice President of the Oceanview Condo Association. Mr. Schweikert was the Recipient of the 2005 Nutley Jaycees Businessman of the Year Award.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Joyce (nee Medaglia) Schweikert; his loving children Robyn Romano and her husband Joseph; and Robert Schweikert and his wife Karrie; and his precious grandchildren Joseph Patrick Romano, Robert James Schweikert, Charlotte Julianna Romano and Kate Elinor Schweikert.
