Edwin W. King, 60, of Shadyside, Ohio died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Park Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

He was born June 29, 1945 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Ethel Davis King.

Ed was employed by Staples Office Supply in Washington, Pa., a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside, Ohio and the Shadyside American Legion Post #521. Ed was a graduate of the Shadyside High School and the Ohio University at Athens, Ohio. Ed served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam Conflict.

Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Jane Stidd King; two brothers, David Vance and his wife Regina, of Belmont, Ohio and John Vance of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Charles Tennyson of Shadyside; nephew, Michael Tennyson of Akron and niece, Jane Tennyson of Shadyside, Ohio

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Perks officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery at Powhatan Point, Ohio.
