Alberta Harper, 87, a life long resident of Hampton Roads, passed away peacefully February 20, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, George B Harper Jr, son George B Harper III, and sisters Lorathorne, Dorothy and Margaret.
She is survived by her son Raymond B Harper (Martha) of Hertford NC, daughter Melinda Harper Nagurney (Nick) of Virginia Beach, grandson Michael Sidwell (Julie) of Virginia Beach, grand-daughter Nicole Van Maneen (Patrick) of Brooklyn NY, and three great grandchildren, Layne and Mason Sidwell and Harper Lily Van Maneen.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her family was her greatest joy. Thanks to the Memory Center staff and friends for all their love, care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice.
All services will be private.
