Estes Park resident Dave Floyd died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at his home in Estes Park. He was 54 years old. David Hastings Floyd was born October 14, 1953 in Imperial, Nebraska to Virginia Irene (Hastings) and David Preston Floyd.

Dave graduated from Salpointe High School Academy in Tucson, AZ. He attended the University of Arizona at Tucson. Following a stint in the Navy, Dave moved to Estes Park in 1975. He married the love of his life and best friend, Susan Rau on August 6, 1977 in Estes Park, CO. Dave worked in sales all his adult life. He enjoyed working with the public and was well respected in this field. He worked for Rains Motor Company, Estes Park Rent-All, Electronic Endeavor, EPTV Channel 8, and was the on-air personality and manager for the local radio station KEZZ, in Estes. He owned and operated Sunset Spas and most recently, Segway of Northern Colorado.

Dave was a member of the American Legion, past member of Rotary, the Moose Club in Longmont, CO. He enjoyed boating, fishing, motorcycle riding, camping, and kite flying.

Dave is survived by his wife, Sue Floyd of Estes Park, his sister Fran Phillips and brother-in-law, Tim of Estes Park, nephews Jeff Kilgore of Omaha, NE, Scott Kilgore of Coral Springs, FL, and Patrick Kilgore of Phoenix, AZ, Tim Rau of Loveland, CO, Ethan Morley of Loveland, CO, and Riley Rau of South Carolina, nieces Kristi and Chelsea Morley of Estes Park, and brother-in-law Fred Rau of Loveland, CO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dr. Virginia Hastings Floyd, a long-time resident of Estes Park, and his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Agnes Rau also of Estes Park.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the American Legion Post #119 at 6:00 PM. Rev. Grzegorz J. Cioch of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church will be officiating. A reception will follow the service.
