Graveside service for Cecil Burnard "Jr." Harris, 88, of Midland, formerly of Wills Point, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Saturday night, December 5, 2015, in Midland.
Cecil (Jr.) was born on March 24, 1927, in Wills Point the son of James Amos and Cecil Val Dodson Harris. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. During his service, he received a Victory Medal. Cecil was an entrepreneur and owned his own business, Harris Rat Hole Service, for forty-five years. He shared his life and success with his beloved wife, Wanda, of sixty-five years. Together they raised two boys, Terry and James. Cecil enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially if it involved fishing and hunting. He loved quality time with his family and doting on his five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Cecil Harris; two brothers, Dodson Harris and James Harris; two sisters, Myrl Rankin and Peggy Stroud and a son, Jerry Lynn Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Harris, of Midland; two sons, Terry Harris, of Midland and James Harris, of Colorado City; five grandchildren, Brent Harris, Jennifer Nunley, Justin Harris, Katherine Harris and Brandon Harris; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous friends.
