Memorial service for Dean Abner Tardy, 59, of Edgewood, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Larry DeLong officiating.
He passed away early Sunday morning, November 22, 2015, in Grand Saline.
Dean was born October 9, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Abner Elton Tardy and Mary Lee Hinton Tardy. He was raised in the Edgewood and Dallas areas. In 1975, he graduated from Edgewood High School and later attended E.T.S.U. in Commerce. Dean was formerly employed by Rite Away Courier Company in Dallas making deliveries to various businesses, Bunker Plastics in Grand Saline and Eddie Dean's BBQ in Terrell. He also worked in Louisiana doing various types of construction work which included building schools and nursing homes. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and hunting in his spare time. Dean was baptized into Christ around 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner Elton and Mary Lee Tardy; grandparents, Abner and Lizzie Belle Tardy and Clyde and Opal Hattie Hinton and numerous aunts and uncles Dean is survived by his son, Ridge Elton Tardy & wife, Crystal, of Edgewood; sister, Donna Farmer & husband, Lee and their son, Nicholas, of Edgewood; three grandchildren, Coby, Cooper and Chloe Tardy, of Edgewood and Dean's former wife, Gayle Tardy, of Athens.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to memorial service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas in Tyler or Country Trails Nursing Home in Grand Saline.
