Graveside services for Larry Dean McCarter, 75, of Myrtle Springs, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery in Rockwall with Devanie Pettus officiating. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Wednesday night, October 28, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center Hospital in Dallas.
Larry was born September 8, 1940, in Dallas, the son of James Earnest McCarter, Sr. and Margaret Bernice Johnson McCarter. He was raised in the Dallas area and graduated from Rylie High School. He later graduated from North Texas State University. Larry was formerly employed by Art Magnet School in Dallas, where he was a teacher.
Preceded in death by his father, James Earnest McCarter, Sr.; mother, Margaret Bernice Carlin; three brothers, Bill McCarter, Donnie McCarter and Gary McCarter and a sister, Beverly Ott.
Larry is survived by his wife, Ann Howard McCarter, of Myrtle Springs; son, Larry McCarter, Jr. & wife, Lynette, of Prosper; two daughters, Nona Kingrey & husband, Todd, of Nevada and Amy Davidson & husband, Ron, of Ft. Worth; two brothers, James E. McCarter, Jr. & wife, Ima, of Dallas and Tommy McCarter & wife, Theresa, of Whitewright; six grandchildren, Mason McCarter, MaKayla McCarter, Paeden Marshall, Tanner Marshall, Collin Strayhand and Westin Kingrey and two great-grandchildren, Harmony Marshall and Murphey Marshall.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 – 1:45. prior to graveside service.
