Graveside service for James Larry "Chuck" Johnson, 84, of Wills Point, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point with Grady Ewing officiating. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Thursday afternoon, July 31, 2014, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
Chuck was born on May 25, 1930, in Wills Point, Texas, the son of Grady Vance Johnson, Sr. and Lula Louise Peace Johnson. He was raised in Wills Point. In 1948, he graduated from Wills Point High School. Chuck later received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. Chuck was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a self-employed rancher.
Preceded in death by his parents; Grady & Lula Johnson; three brothers, Ezell Johnson, Grady Johnson, Jr. and Oscar Truman "Rip" Johnson; six sisters, Mary Francine Hoffman, Romelda Tull Galloway, Bennie Louise Johnson, Elizabeth Jane Sockwell, Billie Eric Murray and Peggy Joyce Ratliff.
Chuck is survived by two sisters, Lula Jean Clayborne, of Mansfield and Shirley Ann Flowers, of Arlington; seventeen nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be his great nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
