Funeral services for Pat Ezell Sumrow, 90, of Whitney, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
Pat passed away early Sunday morning, January 26, 2014, in Whitney, after residing twelve years in nursing home facilities.
Pat was born the only child to Harrison Dewey Taylor and Lorene Manning Taylor on February 27, 1923, in Edgewood, Texas. Later, her family moved to Wills Point, where she spent most of her life. Pat graduated from Wills Point High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Dallas. She was married to H. Baker Ezell for over fifty years until he passed away in 1993. Pat was employed at First National Bank in Wills Point for several years, where she was an assistant cashier and Bruce and Human Drug Co. in Wills Point, where she was a bookkeeper. In November, 1995, Pat married Fred Carson Sumrow and they lived in Canton. She loved life and enjoyed socializing with friends, traveling, camping, fishing and playing bridge. Pat was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point for many years and later was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton.
Preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Baker Ezell.
Pat is survived by her husband, Fred Carson Sumrow, of Whitney; step-son, Phil Sumrow & wife, Vivian, of Hillsboro; step-daughter, Cindy Vaught Krantz, of Winnsboro; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; cousin, Gwendolyn Taylor Powell, of Kingston, Oklahoma and her daughters and their families; nephew, Jay Roy Roland, of California and his family; niece, Carole Davis, of California and her family and a host of friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Victory Sunday School Class from the First Baptist Church in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Wills Point and the First Baptist Church in Canton.
