Funeral services for Roger Jones, 67, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Jerry Wayne Kines officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery near Wills Point.
He passed away Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Roger was born July 28, 1946 in Glendale, Texas, the son of Lloyd Jones and Virginia Faye Smith Jones. He was raised in the Waco area and in 1967, he graduated from Lorena High School. On Thanksgiving 1982, he married Linda Ann Davidson in Terrell. Roger was a police officer in Waco until he was involved in a car accident. He was also a truck driver for Central Freight Lines for twenty-five years and SAIA Freight Lines for almost twenty years. Roger lived in Irving for fifteen years prior to moving to Wills Point twenty-nine years ago. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, boating and especially playing with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Virginia Jones; brother, Doug Jones and a sister, Elizabeth "Sis" Dawson.
Roger is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Jones, of Wills Point; son, Michael Jones, of Richardson; three daughters, Kimberly Sisson & husband, Mike, of Roswell, New Mexico, Brandie Flanagan, of Wills Point and Jacqueline Silva & George Mungin, of Wills Point; three brothers, Lloyd Jones, of Waco, Billy Jones, of Waco and Charlie Jones, of Waco; three sisters, Mary Quionnes, of Waco, Molly Jones, of Waco and Ester Jones, of Waco and seven grandchildren, Jalen Lane, Layton Wright, Liberty Wright, Leon Wright, Trey Mungin, Lexi Flanagan and Kemuel Mungin.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday afternoon from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to service.
